We are currently advertising for the following roles

Therapist/Counsellor
Permanent, Full time

Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation (HELP) supports individuals, whānau and communities impacted by sexual violence in Wellington, Porirua and the Kāpiti Coast.

Sexual violence can happen to anybody, so HELP supports absolutely anyone that has encountered sexual abuse or assault no matter their age, gender or sexual orientation. We also recognise that sexual violence doesn’t just impact an individual in isolation, so we extend that support to friends and whānau of survivors. Our services include a 24/7 crisis support line, social work, counselling and community education. The practical and emotional support offered by our clinicians provides a wrap-around service which helps survivors on their journey to wellbeing.

Wellington HELP has a team of counsellors/therapists that work with clients referred to our service. Due to staff changes, we are looking for another experienced counsellor/therapist to join our team of dedicated therapists.

As a qualified and registered counsellor/therapist, you will be responsible for providing effective counselling/therapeutic intervention for survivors of sexual violence.   You will need to have a sound understanding of counselling in the context of treating trauma for survivors of sexual abuse and violence, along with demonstrated ability to practice culturally safe ways of working with Māori. ACC accreditation is essential.

If you have a strong interest in supporting survivors of sexual abuse, are an experienced counsellor/therapist, want to work for a sportive organisation and think you would be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you.
